Notes on Study Market are digital products. Here is how refunds work.
Changed your mind? You have 7 days, until you open it
If you have not opened or downloaded anything in an order, you can cancel that order within 7 days of paying and get a full refund, including the processing fee.
- Go to your library and tap Cancel purchase next to the order. The button shows while the order can still be cancelled.
- The refund goes back to the card or account you paid with, through Yoco. How long it takes to show depends on your bank, usually 5 to 10 working days.
- Cancelling removes the notes from your library.
- If an order has several items and you have opened one of them, you can't cancel the rest yourself. Email us and we'll sort it out fairly.
Once you open or download notes
You cannot get a refund once you have opened notes (in the reader on the site) or downloaded them. At that point you have the full content, and it can't be given back.
At checkout you must tick the box that says: "These are digital products. Once I open or download them I can't get a refund." Check the free preview pages, the description and the subject, grade and curriculum before you buy.
When we will still refund you
Even after opening or downloading, we will refund you if:
- The file is broken. It won't open, is corrupt, is empty or has pages missing.
- The notes are not what the listing said. For example, a different subject, grade or curriculum, or far fewer pages than listed.
- The notes were removed for copyright. The listing was taken down after a copyright complaint was upheld.
- You were charged twice for the same order.
We do not refund because the notes did not help you, you didn't like the seller's style, or you got a mark you did not like.
How to ask
Email hello@studymarket.co.za with your order number and what went wrong. We will reply within 5 working days. If we approve a refund, it goes back to the payment method you used, through Yoco.
What happens to the seller
When an order is refunded or cancelled, the seller's earnings for that sale are reversed, and any creator commission falls away.
Your legal rights
This policy is designed to follow the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (including the 7-day cooling-off right in section 44) and the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008. Nothing in it limits any right you have under those laws. If you think we have got something wrong, contact us at hello@studymarket.co.za. You can also approach the National Consumer Commission.
Tutoring
Tutoring requests are free for tutees, so there is nothing to refund. Tutor placement fees are covered in the Tutor Terms.
